THE UNEVEN FIGHT
“Never Fold, Never Compromise Who You Are!” That is the first thing Elijah Albatoss saw as he walked into the Tilbathon Dojo with his friend and training partner Reckus Naws. “We’re only a week away from the League of Fighters Tournament. Are you mentally prepared brother?” Asked Reckus with an eager look on his face. “You know I am brother. You’ve been training with me daily for the past three months. If anybody knows how focused I am, it’s you. Or Amberlynn, and that’s only because she is my fiancée.” Elijah won the Regionals for the section of Tilbathon to receive a bid in the League of Fighters Tournament. Reckus Naws, who was also a professional street fighter, lost in the semi-finals due to a questionable score given to him by one of the three judges. Twenty- four street fighters from all over the Eastern Society took part in the competition. The event was held every four years. This year, for the first time ever, the winner was given the Lieutenant General position in the Romona Republic Army. Reckus Naws was secretly envious of Elijah’s tournament selection.
“I’m surprised that you told me the whole fight plan that you have if you face Master Chow in the semi-finals. Most fighters wouldn’t trust a soul with that type of information.” “See that’s what you have failed to realize Naws, I’m not most fighters. Plus, you’re my friend. I trust you. Except when it comes to music, because your taste is about as good as a 3,000 day old banana.”
Even though he sounded confident, deep down inside Elijah had a notion that he made a mistake that had the potential to drastically change his life for the worst. Elijah and Reckus had been in a number of life or death situations together. One breezy night, 15 males approached the two from a nearby section in an alley. Both Elijah and Reckus could’ve tried their hands at running away. By doing that, they both knew that they risked losing respect from the rest of the Street Fighters in the Eastern Society. So they decided to stand their ground and fight like the warriors that they were raised to be. Side by side the two threw combination punches at the 15 hoodlums and absorbed a large amount of punishment. Finally, the 15 males grew tired of punching and receiving punches from the two Tilbathon legends and decided to end the fisticuff. The two friends dusted each other off and continued to walk through the alley, which lead to their section.
“Hey Jah Jah! How was training today?” asked Amberlynn. She was once again excited to see her fiancé Elijah walk through the front door of their two bedroom apartment. “It was good. I just can’t wait until the tournament. I think it was a good idea that I told Naws my whole fight plan. It’s good to practice against someone who knows it. You know?” “I don’t trust him. I think he still feels some type of way for not being selected to be a part of the tournament.” “Amberlynn, I don’t want to talk about it anymore. What’s for dinner?”
Elijah and Amberlynn had a relatively good consistent relationship. They both had the same mindset and similar goals in life. They argued from time to time, but both worked extremely hard to please and love one another. Unfortunately, there were two huge facts that neither Amberlynn nor Elijah knew. They weren’t the only topians (male and female individuals) on the Second Earth that did not know those facts. The first fact was that there is an all mighty God who created the whole universe and loved everything in it. The topians of the Second Earth had never read the bible or heard anything about it. Actually, they knew nothing about any existence of any religion that is known on the planet Earth. Their King and Queen never allowed them to acquire this type of knowledge. Both the Romona Republic on the east and the Marvelous Democrato on the west were a godless monarchial society. King Leodite and Queen Estogina were ordered to rule the Second Earth that way. Both of their lives depended on it.
“So my mom is coming to Yoshi Island next weekend. I told you that right?” Amberlynn asked Elijah after taking a sip from the glass of wine that she was drinking while sitting on their comfortable living room sofa. “Yep! I can’t wait to see her. Tell her again that I appreciate her coming to support me. You know that my parents will be there in full effect, loud and ready to cheer me on.”
This brings us to the second fact unknown by topians; the identity of their biological fathers. Since the 1980’s, the secret society called the New Age has been secretly ejecting human DNA into female Gracetopians. They did this by mandatory black plague prevention shots that are administered by the Romona Republic and Marvelous Democrato governments. Unlike humans, Gracetopian females give birth by laying eggs and waiting three months for them to hatch. A number of the mothers began to become concerned when their babies came out looking different then traditional Gracetopians. In order to calm down the masses, both governments created the illusion of evolution as the reason behind the altered appearance of the human being-Gracetopian hybrids, and simply called them Humanoids. They lied to the population by telling them that the first Gracetopian whose name is Gracie Love created the Second Earth. The population believed them because in their minds they had no reason not to.
“All arise as we summon the unholy ghost to help us facilitate this meeting.” Upon hearing the voice of the Grandmaster of the New Age, twelve other well-groomed men stood up with their hands placed in front of their faces in an act of prayer. It was that time of the month again for the Executive 13 of the New Age to meet about the happenings on the Second Earth.
“Good morning number 4. I am confident that your meeting with Queen Estogina in regards to the whereabouts of the Lucrative Oil Well was a success.” Asked the Grandmaster. “Inevitably, through her stubbornness, Estogina used diversionary tactics while explaining her knowledge of the location of the Lucrative Oil Well. In my humble opinion, I believe that as long as we continue to get 90 percent of the profits that she is receiving from the well, then we should not let it pester us.” “That is a stupendous observation number 4. But in my unmannerly opinion I have to disagree. I believe that your incompetents as a man, represented by the scrawny muscle in between your thighs, has tricked you into thinking that receiving 99 percent of the profits and being omnipotent of everything in relation to the Second Earth is not the objective.” Number 4 could not counter this deliberate insult by the Grandmaster towards him. He had to swallow his enormous pride and take it. But that was also the case for the other eleven members of the Executive 13 who were subordinates of the Grandmaster. The Grandmaster was the appointed leader of the New Age. The god of the New Age who is called the unholy ghost appointed him.
“Yes Grandmaster, I agree with you whole heartedly.” “As you should. In more positive news, the fine people from NASA will be flying in next week to give us an updated version of the oxygen simulator mask to give to Queen Estogina and King Leodite to wear. We don’t want them suffocating and dying due to a malfunction by an out dated mask. They are flying all the way to London from Washington, so I expect number 6 and 9 to show them an exceptional time. Men, women, vodka, or wine; give them whatever they fancy.”
Obtaining the funds to fulfill the workers from NASA’s lustful and gluttonous appetites was not a problem for the members of the New Age. The small group of wealthy men, along with a few other wealthy men on the planet Earth, controlled the banking system, entertainment industry, and political systems on the planet Earth. When the European Space Agency was established in 1975, the men of the New Age footed the bill. The space race between the Soviet Union and the United States brought about a huge advancement in space technology. The New Age saw this huge advancement as an opportunity to seek after extraterrestrial life throughout the universe. The primary reason for this is because they wanted a large amount of beings to have total dominion over. Within three years of explorations, two members of the European Space Agency located the Second Earth. Once the two members told the New Age about the physical attributes and location of the Second Earth, they were murdered by the secret society. One was murdered by drug overdose, and the other was a victim of a premeditated car accident. With the discovery of the Second Earth, the members of the New Age saw an opportunity for them to have god-like abilities.
“Are you sure that this is Elijah’s whole fight plan? Master Chow will kill me if I used his finances to garner useless or inaccurate information.” The athletically built Gracetopian with a Master Chow Fighting Academy shirt on asked Reckus Naws. “Don’t insult me. I told you that Elijah trusts me like I am his brother. He showed me that this is his fight plan against Master Chow, so that is exactly what it is. Just have the rest of my dinars in a couple of days after Master Chow beats Elijah.”
While training with Elijah, Reckus used a small video recorder to record everything that Elijah showed and told him. The video recorder was as small as a penny and could blend in with the black headband that Reckus wore while training. This type of advanced technology is common on the Second Earth.
Amberlynn knew that something was funny when Elijah told her that Reckus couldn’t make it to the tournament because his hovercraft broke down on the way there. The tournament was an hour away from Tilbathon. Reckus would’ve found a way to the tournament if he really wanted to. Amberlynn could tell that Elijah was not focused. He won his first three matches simply because he was the more skilled fighter. But now he was up against Chow, and she could tell by Chow’s confidant stance that he had an unfair advantaged against the love of her life.
“Right uppercut, left hook, jumping roundhouse kick by Elijah. All blocked by Master Chow. A quick counter jab to the face!” The commentator yelled as he watched Chow dismantle Elijah in amazement. “Impossible.” Screamed Amberlynn. Elijah had an array of punch-kick combinations that along with his strength, quickness, intelligence, and toughness made him a fighting machine. Chow was talented in martial arts but he was weaker than Elijah and had less courage. Every strike that Elijah attempted Chow could see it coming from a mile away. Elijah knew that he had been set up. He was surprised to only have a bloody nose after the way that he was beaten up by Chow. He managed to get a few good punches in through improvisation. It wasn’t enough to overcome the daunting task of defeating Chow due to the competitive advantage that he had over him.
“After six minutes of street fighting, the judges collectively score the bout 30-27, 30-24, and 30-27. With the winner being Master Chow!” The ring announcer said to the arena full of 25,000 spectators. When Elijah and Amberlynn arrived to their doorstep there was a handwritten note waiting for them there. It read, “I apologize brother for what happened today. I appreciate everything that you have done for me and I will always have love for you.” It wasn’t signed but both Elijah and Amberlynn knew exactly whom it was from. “Hey Jah Jah, look at it like this. You can’t win all of the time. You see how Master Chow got destroyed by that guy Vincent in the Finals.” “Yep. I also learned a valuable life lesson. Surround yourself around cowards and cowardly acts will be done unto you.” Elijah then balled the note up and threw it in the first trashcan that he saw. To him that was exactly how his and Reckus relationship was now. Thrown away garbage. In his mind he would never see Reckus again.
